Rwanda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation ensures that Rwanda is politically, economically and harmoniously integrated in a peaceful and prosperous region, continent and the world. The ministry elaborates strategies and programmes, whose objectives are to implement, monitor and evaluate Rwanda’s foreign policy as well as clearly articulate the country’s foreign policy both at home and abroad.
Rwanda’s Ministry of Defence has the mission is to protect Rwanda’s people, interests, territorial integrity, vital resources and share values under the ambit of the Constitution and International Law. The Ministry of Defence generates, employs and sustains a combat-ready, integrated and rapidly deployable Defence Force, capable of quick assemblage to meet varying contingencies both at home and abroad.
The Rwanda Defence Force is involved in peacekeeping operations in Darfur (Sudan), in South Sudan, and in the Central African Republic (CAR).
The Ministry of Internal Security brings together the National Police and Correctional Services with the goal of efficiently and effectively ensuring the safety of all people living in Rwanda.

The Rwanda National Police is involved in peacekeeping operations in Haiti, Darfur (Sudan), South Sudan, Mali, Central African Republic (CAR), Ivory Coast, Abyei and Liberia. The force has the vision for all people in Rwanda to feel safe, involved and reassured. The Rwanda National Police is dedicated to delivering high quality services, accountability and transparency, safeguarding the rule of law and providing a safe and crime free environment for all. The force has been recognised the world over for its community policing programmes and anti-gender based violence initiatives.
